Optimist Club

OptimistsOppy Club is for children aged 8-15 and runs on Saturday afternoons from 2pm (rigged and ready to sail) to approximately 4pm. It is run by qualified coaches, instructors and other parents. The sessions offer children the opportunity to sail and develop their skills to a high level of racing competence, in a friendly, safe and supportive environment.
Weir Wood has an active Optimist fleet with boats sailing every Saturday afternoon during the season which runs from March to November with winter training sessions for the keener sailors. The children in the group have a lot of fun and make good friends on and off the water.
