Sunday afternoons are a great time to go for a leisurely sail – there is no racing to worry about and there is a club Support Boat on duty in case of mishaps. We hope this will appeal particularly both to members who have joined the club recently and also to established members who have perhaps lost the habit of visiting the club regularly and are therefore not getting value from their membership.
As we have discovered from the weekday sailing initiative, we believe it will also be a great opportunity for participants to get know other members and possibly forge sailing partnerships.
Each week, we will have a couple of experienced members on hand to guide and assist. We envisage the programme will be something like:
|1.00– 2.00 pm||Meet up in clubhouse for lunch (optional).|
|2.00-3.30 pm||Go sailing|
|3:30-4:00 pm||Come off the water and retire to the clubhouse for tea and cake before heading home,
spiritually refreshed and ready to face the week ahead.
For those who prefer to sail informally rather than race, casual sailing recommences on Wednesday and Sunday afternoons from 3 April.
Open to all levels of experience we are a welcoming & friendly group who meet on Wednesday and Sunday afternoons to enjoy Weir Wood reservoir sailing.
On Wednesdays we meet at clubhouse at 1.00pm, tea & biscuits are provided but bring your own packed lunch. We wander down & rig at 2.00pm and sail until about 4.00pm, more tea & biscuits after.
Donation of £1.00 per person towards biscuits and petrol etc. A support boat will be on the water during sailing.
Sunday from 2.00pm onwards. No donation as the galley will be open for refreshments.
