New Training and Coaching Programme

Whilst current restrictions limit our ability to run sessions for beginners, teach in double handed boats or run powerboat training, we are still able now to run a range of training and coaching opportunities for our members both young and old.

Race Coaching

Sessions for experienced junior members focusing around developing racing skills. Open to Laser, Topper and Optimist Sailors. Members may use their own boats or hire a club boat in advance.

Youth Sailing

Sessions for youth member aimed at improving general sailing skills in line with the RYA scheme. Sessions will be single handed in Toppers, Picos, Optimists or Fevas.

Adult Sailing Group

Saturday mornings sessions are run to provide adult club members the opportunity to and develop their sailing skills at their own pace. The sessions are led by qualified club instructors who will support you on and off the water. Session are aimed at those who would like to achieve RYA Level 2 – Basic Skills or Level 3 – Better Sailing. Further details and bookings can be found here

Start Racing Course

Sunday 30th and Monday 31st August (August bank holiday weekend)
Two day course covering the fundamentals of getting off the start line and round the course. All the skills required to start club racing, including how to maximise boat speed and outwit your opponents. Entry requires sailing and knowledge to at least the standard of the Level 2 course or youth Stage 3. Practical sessions will be run in single handed dinghy’s but will cover double handed sailing as best as social distancing will allow. Further details and bookings can be found here

Private Lessons

Private sessions aimed at those who have not sailed for a while and looking to get back into sailing on their own terms, or for those wishing to take their sailing to the next level. Further details and bookings can be found here
