Laser Skills Training Day

Saturday 10th Oct 2020

Anyone wishing to brush up boat handling and racing skills in a Laser Standard, Radial or 4.7 is more than welcome to join in this Laser day. To get the most out of the day you need to have started a few races, able to sail upwind, tack and gybe in the laser. We will be spitting into groups at times , and we hope to have mini handicapped races with the whole group for fun.

Andy Kerr, who is an RYA coach, will be coordinating the day and we will have some experienced sailors to give advice and help out. The sessions will be dictated by weather conditions on the day, but we plan to include

  • Speed , and getting the most out of your control lines (Cunningham, outhaul and kicker).
  • Upwind work, no good going fast in the wrong direction.
  • Mark rounding under pressure.
  • Starting.

The objective of the day is to get to meet all sailing levels in the Laser so everyone is comfortable to join in the competitive lively fun Sunday races at the club .

Places are limited, so please register at  Laser Coaching Day.
